For Immediate Release July 1, 2019[Elmira, NY] The Case family will celebrate their new Habitat for Humanity home at a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 208 Allen St., Elmira at 5:00 pm. Volunteers, staff, and local officials will gather to celebrate the completion of the 28th Habitat home in Chemung County. The ceremony will feature home tours, refreshments and a performance by the Elmira High School drum line.
Chemung County Habitat for Humanity, the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit organization that builds simple, decent and affordable homes for ownership by local families in need. Habitat partner families are selected on the basis of housing need, willingness to partner with Habitat, and ability to repay an affordable mortgage loan.
Through donations of money, building materials and volunteer labor, Chemung County Habitat for Humanity was able to build the home and sell it at an affordable price to the Case family.
